Victoria Falls

September 4, 2014  —  Zimbabwe
Victoria Falls National Park - Zimbabwe

I am back to the Victoria Falls after 6 months of travel. In February, I have visited the falls on the Zambian side. This time, I am on the Zimbabwean side toward the end of the dry season. You can see the Zambian side by following this link: Zambian side.

In September, the water volume having greatly diminished, the views of the falls and the gorge are more photogenic. It is one of the best times to see the waterfalls. However, during the rainy season, the water volume is much more impressive. Indeed, toward the end of November, the water volume is so low that the falls have practically disappeared.

Full-moon evening

During full moon evening, it is possible to visit the falls after the end of the day. The highlight of this visit is the possibility to see lunar rainbows.

The following four photos have been taken in the evening under the full moon light.
