Usambara Mountains
The Usambara mountains are less visited and also not well known compared to the busy sites such as Kilimanjaro, Serengeti or Zanzibar. However, I found this place to be absolutely fantastic.
Villagers were very friendly and they (especially the kids) were quite curious. As soon as they were seeing me, they formed a small group just to see me.
Sometime, they were shouting « jambo » ('hi' in Swahili), from their houses a few hundred metres away from where I was standing.
This picture has been taken at the Irente viewpoint.
A few metres beyond the feet of this young Tanzanian, it is emptiness and a valley some 1500 metres below. No fence, no warning, only the scenery in all its glory...
The roads between villages were wonderful.
I was often stopping every few metres to take some pictures.
