Serengeti National Park
If you ever watched an animal documentary, chance that one of them was filmed in the Serengeti is quite high. This park is probably the most famous of all Africa. This huge park of more than 14 763 km2 provides shelter for astonishing wildlife and scenery.
The Serengeti (and the Masai Mara, adjacent park on the Kenyan side) is home to an amazing migration that has shaped the land for several centuries. This migration of about 1.6 million wildebeest and nearly 300 000 zebras covers around 800 km following the rains and fresh grasses.
The Grumeti River is famous for the enormous crocodiles that can snatch a wildebeest or a zebra when one tries to cross the river. Maybe you already saw a documentary showing this perilous crossing.
We got very near quite a few crocodiles.
