Drakensberg - Sani Pass
The Sani Pass is a link between the province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa and the Kingdom of Lesotho. It's a spectacular ride around hairpin bends to a height of 2 865 metres up to the Lesotho plateau.
Luckily, the sun was shining the day I climbed the pass.
In order to ride the pass, it is necessary to have a 4x4 since at certain point it is quite rocky and the slope can reach 20-25%.
Before reaching the tougher part, one must go through the South African border post.
After the border post, it's a no man's land for a few kilometres until the top of the pass where the Lesotho border post is found.
The view from the top is as impressive. However, on the top it's Lesotho and other photos of the pass are going to be published in the Lesotho section.
