Karoo Parks
The Karoo region is a vast plateau with a semi-arid climate. This ecosystem covers about one third of the area of South Africa. There are some nice parks with a population of animals able to withstand this desert climate with very little water during the dry season. In summer, the temperature can go up to 45 degrees Celsius and in winter, the night can be around zero. On the small mountains, there is sometimes snow...
Karoo National Park
This park is special because it protects modern animals and is important for archeologists since fossilized bones from ancient creatures have been found in it.
Zebras from different species. Notice the stripe on the Mountain Zebra; they are more numerous and tightly spaced... Moreover, the top of the nose is of a brownish colour.
Camdeboo National Park
This park is more interesting for its rock formations than for the variety of species it protects.
Nevertheless, some interesting animals can be observed.
