After more than one week in Lima, I am heading to the Central Highlands.

Road from San Mateo de Huanchor to Tanta

From San Mateo, I leave the main road behind and head into the outback.

It was an awesome drive with extraordinary landscapes, and without any tourist. I only passed two Peruvian cars on this itinerary.

With the motorbike, what will be my highest altitude during this trip?

I improved my score, but I didn't succeed in driving above 5000 metres.

I am getting closer to the Nor Yauyos-Cochas Landscape Reserve (snowy peaks).

I have a separate post for the reserve because the landscapes are so pretty.
