The Spitzkoppe

Spitzkoppe - Damaraland - Namibia

This mountain of 1,728 metres is very scenic and apparently resembles the Matterhorn in Switzerland. It is a very nice region where to walk around.

There are nice rock formations and it is a site where rock climbers can have a challenge.

These mountains reaching 2,216 metres have been inhabited by the San people in the past. In addition to superb landscapes, the mountains hide several rock paintings several centuries old.

This cave contains some rock paintings. The nicest one is the white elephant superimposed on an antelope.
