Exploring our beautiful planet

Vilankulo and Archipélago de Bazaruto

July 25, 2015  —  Mozambique

Vilankulo

The Bazaruto Archipelago is a group of paradisiacal islands with white sand and superb clear and turquoise water. These islands are part of a protected marine park and shelter an excellent marine life and some very nice coral.

Lodges on the islands are all geared for luxury tourism with price above 500 dollars per person per night. Thus, for people on a budget, the solution is to base oneself on the continent in the town of Vilankulo and do one or more activities around the archipelago.

Vilankulo and the archipelago are very beautiful and diving is awesome. Unfortunately, the cost of activities such as diving or a kayak trip is outrageous. I only did two dives with a small visit on two islands of the archipelago. The dives were superb especially for the coral, and the turtles I have seen. However, the humpback whales and whale sharks were not around when I visited.

During my two dives, a Frenchman called Vincent made two videos.

I am the diver on this video.
