Essaouira
Essaouira is one of my favourite cities in Morocco; a surprise since I don't like touristy sites. The medina (old city) is surrounded by an ancient rampart where we can walk. Shops and restaurants are plentiful throughout the maze of alleys. The port, with so many boats and fishermen, is another destination worth exploring and full of photo opportunities. There, I found a nice balance between tourist development and its advantages such as restaurants and decent accommodations, and the traditions and history.
The rampart and medina date from the 18th century and are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
