On the road #1
Omoa
Omoa is a small fishing village along the Caribbean Coast. On weekends, the village comes to life with locals from the neighbouring town of Puerto Cortés.
Fortaleza San Fernando de Omoa
The construction of this fortress started in 1752, and it was completed in 1775.
Miami and Jeanette Kawas National Park
The small hamlet of Miami has been the starting point of my excursion to the Jeanette Kawas Park. One morning, I left with two fishermen that brought me to the park, then after a visit to the site, I hiked back the 10 km of sandy beaches separating the park and the village of Miami. It was a long hike at the beginning of the evening, under the full moon, to avoid the extreme heat of the afternoon.
The park has been both a highlight and a disappointment. A highlight, because of the splendid landscapes, and a disappointment because of all the trash found on the beaches.

This small and curious contraption is a modified motorbike to allow a man with paralyzed legs to handle it. He can ride the bike only with the help of its arms and hands.
