Sayaxché and Ceibal
Sayaxché
Sayaxché is a very ordinary small dusty town. However, the road to get there comes up against the River of Passion (Río de la Pasión). There is a ferry for cars and also some small boats for motorbikes.
During my stay in the town, I witnessed a strange procession. I didn't really understand its meaning, but it seems those people were protesting against the government and corruption. Why this type of garb that made me think about the Klu Klux Klan? No idea.
Ceibal
The structures at this archeological site are not impressive. However, the numerous well-preserved steles are, on the other hand, very nice.
