Simien Mountains
The Simien Mountains have been described by Homer (the Greek poet) as the playground where the Greek gods came to play chess. A very nice way to say that the mountains and landscapes in the park are extraordinary.
It is one of the most beautiful places in Ethiopia and even Africa for trekking in an unforgettable decor. The mountains shelter several endemic species of plants, birds and mammals. It is possible to see, among others, the ibex walia, the Ethiopian wolf and the gelada baboons.
We spent 6 days in the park; of which 5 to trek around. We went only with a scout to guide us on the many trails inside the park.
I invite you to enjoy these nice pictures and I hope that, one day, you will have the chance to wander in these mountains.
