Saquisilí's market
The market in Saquisilí has been one of the most impressive I've seen in Ecuador. The day starts with the animals market, on the outskirt of town, and continues with the more typical market in the centre of town.
It's a massive market that sprawls over several plazas, and that also overflows on the adjacent streets around the main sites. I roamed around three plazas, but apparently, there are a total of eight.
The Animal Market
At the animal market, it's possible to buy several types of animals like the cow, pig, sheep, goat, llama, or alpaca. It's interesting to observe people haggle over the price of an animal, in Spanish or sometimes in a local indigenous language.
