Cajas National Park

Cajas National Park - Ecuador

The Cajas National Park, only 30 kilometres from Cuenca, is a vast mountainous area of páramo and glacial lakes. This very wet and foggy region is considered a major conservation area for birds, mammals and flora; it's the most biologically diverse páramo of the entire Andes. The park is located at altitude varying from 3000 to 4300 metres.

I visited two sections of the parks, the Laguna Llaviucu and the Laguna Toreadora. At the second laguna, I did a nice hike of about 10 kilometres.
