On the road
Mennonites are also present in Belize. There are many communities, and most of them are relative to those that came from Canada.
St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park
An underground river emerges from the mountain to create the Blue Hole. On the photo, one can see the dark area where the sapphire-blue crystalline waters emerge.
On the next photo, one can see the cave where the pool empties itself after only a few metres in open air.
St. Herman Cave.
Ferry
Belize has many of these hand-crank ferries. The ferries are linked by a steel cable to both sides of the river, and to make it move a crank must be operated by a person. The number of cars using these sides is not great enough to warrant the construction of a permanent bridge.
These sides operate 24 hours a day, and it's a very physical job for the ferrymen. Most of the time, a passenger offers its help to operate the crank; it allows the ferryman to rest a bit.
San Ignacio
I had the chance to arrive in the town during the annual kayak race. The race departure is impressive.
On the photo, a team of gringos embedded themselves in the bridge. It took them a few minutes to get out of this unfortunate situation.
