Cachi and its surroundings
Mirador Nevado de Cachi
After leaving Los Cardones Park, on the way to Cachi, this mirador offers nice views on the mountains.
Cachi
Cachi is a pretty village in the Valles Calchaquíes along Road 40. Around Cachi, some world-class high-altitude wines are produced and the landscapes are magnificent.
During this stay in Argentina, there was sometime diesel shortage around the country, especially in villages away from the big centres. Anyway, a diesel problem doesn't affect a motorbike using gasoline. Except that... the truck that delivers the fuel in the village, well, he runs on diesel.
I had to wait for the fuel truck a few days since the only gas station of Cachi was completely dry. Fortunately, the people from the hotel told me when the truck arrived, so I managed to line up in position 20 or so and I only had to wait one hour before filling up.
The Cachi Church dates from the 1796, and its interior roof is made of cactus wood. The confessional is also made of cactus wood.
Cachi Adentro - Las Pailas Loop
A small drive around the valley of Cachi and Las Pailas near the village.
