The first 60 kilometres of Ruta 40 until the Monumento Natural Angastaco offer some superb scenery.
Monumento Natural Angastaco - Quebrada de las Flechas
The most impressive area on this road is the one crossing the Monumento Natural Angastaco where the Quebrada de las Flechas (canyon of the arrows) is located. The name is due to the resemblance of the rock formations to arrows pointing toward the sky.

The village of Angastaco
At the end of the village, the Mirador Angastaco offers some spectacular 360-degree views. All the photos in this subsection were made from that viewpoint.
