From Andalgalá to San Miguel de Tucumán
Cuesta la Chilca
A few kilometres after the city of Andalgalá, I drive to the mountains via the Cuesta la Chilca. The word cuesta can be translated as 'slope' 'hill' or 'ascent.'
The road climbs nearly a 1000 metres over a relatively short distance. It is an impressive work of engineering since the road zigzags precariously on the mountains along chasms without any protective walls.
Road from Buena Vista to Concepción
Provincial Road 48 in the Aconquija Valley, also known under the name Las Estancias followed by Road 65 to Concepción.
Famaillá
The Parque Tematico Historico del Bicentenario Ciudad De Famaillá is home to a series of beautiful wall carvings, and the avenue along the small park has a range of odd sculptures not always done well.
It is a nice place for a break after long hours of driving and also for a lunch.
