Pisac, also spelled Pisaq in Quechua, is a beautiful Inca archaeological site in the Sacred Valley. The exact date of its construction is subject to debate, but the consensus is that it was built after 1440.
Pachacuti (1438 to 1471), the first emperor of the Inca Empire, probably used it as a residence, citadel, and religious site for himself, his family and his descendants.
The ruins are very pretty, but the landscape around the site is also fantastic. It is one of my favourite sites.
