Oaxaca de Juárez
Oaxaca is a pretty city in the mountains known for its culture and food.Surrounded by villages, markets, hiking trails, and interesting archeological sites, Oaxaca deserve a stop of several days.
Christmas
I spent nearly a week in Oaxaca and it's here I enjoyed Christmas's time. It's a bit weird to see a Christmas's tree with temperatures around 25 degrees. It was great fun because Oaxaca is a lively city year-round. However, during the holidays period, there are even more vents all around the centre plaza.
Noche de Los Rábanos
The 'noche de los Rábanos' or the Night of the Radishes is a crafting contest with artists carving superb figures in giant radishes (yes, radishes, the vegetable). Some of theses works are absolutely fantastic. This event has been repeating itself every year, on December 23rd, for 120 years. Unfortunately, the works don't survive more than a day or two due to their perishable nature.
