Nyanga National Park

Nyanga Park is famous for its mountainous scenery, its rivers and waterfalls. It boasts the highest mountain of Zimbabwe; Mount Nyangani at 2592 metres. Moreover, one can see the highest fall in the country; the Mtazari Fall dropping from a height of 479 metres...

One of these falls is the Mtazari Fall.

It is funny all the superlatives that are given to sites in the tourism industry. It is not about the biggest fall, but about the one that drops from the highest altitude...

Ancient dwelling (Pit Structure)

These ancient dwelling were structured around a pit reachable through a tunnel. The cattle were kept in the pit and the houses were built around that pit.

Rhodes Nyanga Hotel

Rhodes Nyanga Hotel.

The name of Cecil Rhodes appears again in this park. This man, probably the equivalent of a billionaire in its time, owned several estates like this one. This hotel was once one of Rhodes's houses.

The stables have been converted in a museum.

The museum is about Rhodes and shows exhibits from its time (the end of the 1800s).

The country was named after Rhodes.
