Djemaa el-Fna Square

Marrakesh - Morocco

Marrakesh is the first taste of Morocco for most travellers. Founded in AD 1062, the city is filled with historic sites, local markets, Koranic schools, and many other attractions. The most famous of them is the Djemaa el-Fna Square where dozens of street vendors offer delicious orange juices, many varieties of dates, meals, and also a whole range of gadgets for tourists.

Before and after each trip with a group, I was coming back to Marrakesh and I was planning my next expedition. Nevertheless, time was short and I only explored a small part of the medina (old town).

I spent one month and a half with groups of travellers and slightly over a month exploring Morocco in solo. Without hesitations, I can say it is not enough and I would like to come back to this beautiful country. I keep it in my list of countries to see; a very long list only found in my head...

Here is a glimpse of the city.
